ABOUT THE PROJECT

Young people (learners or workers) are the future leaders of society. Providing them with tools to understand democratic processes, active citizenship, common values, civic engagement, inclusion, and diversity are keys to the achievement of a graceful society and to overcome demotivation and lack of youth participation in civic matters.

The EU Video Games project offers an innovative solution: video games designed to teach democratic values and active citizenship. As 70% of European youth interact with video games or gaming regularly, blending games and education will help them understand democratic values and processes, exploring EU citizenship and tackling issues like misinformation and social apathy.

The project will produce a total of 30 video games produced by partners and by youth across Europe, along with 10 content fiches on various aspects of democracy and the EU, a tech guide on non-coding videogame creation, a content guide on integrating EU citizenship into games, a training session report, 15 game-creation tools, 10 templates and 10 tutorials to ensure a wide variety of people have access to all the knowledge and skills needed to create their own educational videogames to boost youth participation in democratic processes and EU citizenship.

All of our innovative resources and methods based on video games will also be designed for youth with learning and behaviour disorders (DYS, ADHD, etc.) to integrate the whole scope of European youth and ensure all the materials are inclusive and accessible for all.
